A GMO, or Genetically Modified Organism, is an organism whose genetic material has been modified using genetic engineering. It allows selected individual genes to be transferred from one organism into another, also between nonrelated species.

GMO seeds were initially developed to improve crop protection and making them more resistant against weather, bugs and diseases. This meant that more crops can resist natural elements and therefor productions would be higher and more money could be made.

There are no independent long-term feeding studies on the risk of GMO’s, therefor its unknown if it has any negative impact on humans. But the fact is that GMO’s are a not-natural thing.
